Nicole Scherzinger on new album: 'It’s a reflection of how I’ve felt over the past couple of years'

Nicole Scherzinger says her new album is very "personal".

The singer is due to release 'Big Fat Lie' on October 20 and she told the Mirror that it is a "reflection" of her emotional state of the last two years.

The former X Factor judge in this time saw her relationship to Lewis Hamilton break down before restarting again.

The US star said: "It’s a personal album to me. I’d say it’s a reflection of how I’ve felt over the past couple of years. Sometimes love makes you feel amazing – it makes you feel like ‘I need you and you need me'. But sometimes it’s like my song 'Run', when you have to run from your own fears and somebody that’s getting on your nerves."

She added: "It’s been a cathartic experience. Sometimes you wonder what you’re doing it all for. Sometimes you feel so alone. But I’ve turned to music and I feel like it’s taught me a lot."

Scherzinger previously revealed the record's title represents her previous battle with an eating disorder and the way she spoke out about it.
