Nicole Scherzinger: 'I get creative ideas when I go running'

Songstress Nicole Scherzinger has revealed that creative ideas come to her while she is jogging.

During a recently interview with Now magazine, she explained that running helps her to get her thoughts into order so she likes to make a habit of heading out for a jog:

"As for exercise, jogging is a great cardio workout but also helps me get in the right frame of mind. I get creative ideas and I'm very productive when I'm running. I love spin classes and yoga, too."

She went onto add that while she loves to be active, she works out less now than she did when she was in her 20s: "I actually work out less often now. When I was younger I worked out like a fiend, so maybe that's helped me. It's carried me in good stead for my 30s. I'm proud of myself if I train four times a week. If I'm really getting in shape for something it's five to six days a week."

Scherzinger, meanwhile, has just been nominated for an Olivier award and is now in the running for Best Supporting Actress in a Musical gong for her part as Grizabella in Cats. The awards ceremony honours the best in British theatre and it is being held this year at the Royal Opera House in London on April 12.
