Nicole Scherzinger has admitted that she doesn't believe this year's X Factor groups will be able to compete with One Direction.

The 'Kiss You' boyband were created on the TV talent show back in 2010 after being pieced together from five solo contestants.

They have since gone on to achieve worldwide success and people often wonder where the next One Direction will come from.

Speaking to Entertainmentwise, X Factor judge Scherzinger admitted that she doesn't think any of the groups seen so far on the show's 2013 auditions can match One Direction. She said:

"I don't think they can rival them because One Direction have got it on lockdown but we'll see a lot of groups - boy/girl groups that we're not used to seeing."

Scherzinger meanwhile has been joined by returning judge Sharon Osbourne on the panel for this year's X Factor auditions.
