Nicole Scherzinger named global ambassador of the Special Olympics

Former Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger has recorded a festive song for the Special Olypmics' upcoming Christmas album.

The beauty has contributed her own rendition of 'O Holy Night' for the record, entitled 'A Very Special Christmas', and the organisation will benefit from money raised through sales of the album. It is due to be released on December 9 and also features songs from the likes of Elvis Presley, John Lennon, and Wham!

Speaking about being part of the project in an official statement, Scherzinger explained that she's excited to be supporting such a worthy cause:

"I recorded the song here in London and I'm really thrilled about how it came out because it's for a good cause and it's my favourite Christmas song."

Earlier today (November 15), Scherzinger shared a snapshot of herself posing with some participants in the Special Olympics, which can be seen above left, and accompanied the photo with the caption: "I'm really excited to have been announced as a global ambassador for @specialolympics!. Me and my friends from @SpecialOlympics enjoying the beautiful day as the sun shone down on us #Blessed #Keepshining."
