Noel Gallagher reckons his brother Liam is in a "mess".

The singer's band Beady Eye announced their split last year and Gallagher is currently embroiled in a US court case over financial support for a baby he had during an affair.

Speaking in the current issue of NME, Noel Gallagher admitted that his brother isn't in the best space at the moment.

He said: "He's making a f*cking mess of things at the moment, but we've all been there. I've been there.

"Something like that can be a great thing because you get to the bottom and you cleanse yourself of a lot of f*cking sh*t baggage and you start again. I’m the kind of person that says 'F*ck it, take it' and I'll start again. And that would be my advice to him."

The brothers' band Oasis meanwhile split in 2009 after a heated argument before a gig.
