Noel Gallagher on Beyoncé: 'Shaking your ass for a living isn't art'

Musician Noel Gallagher has revealed that he doesn't think Beyoncé really matches the definition of a true artist and wasn't more deserving of a GRAMMY than Beck

When asked by Stereogum if he watches the industry's biggest awards ceremonies, Gallagher admitted that he isn't glued to the screen but he definitely pays attention:

"I'm aware of our mate Kanye being a bit of a buffoon at one of them, yeah. Didn't he say Beck should 'respect artistry' and pass the award on to Beyoncé? Somebody should buy that boy a dictionary. And he needs to look up the f**king term 'artistry' and then see if it reminds him, in any way, of Beyoncé."

Gallagher went onto give his opinion of Beyoncé, adding: "If shaking your ass for a living is considered art, then she's right up there, no?"

Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds will headline this year's Calling Festival and the event is due to take place at London's Clapham Common on July 4. The line-up also includes Ryan Adams, The Hives and Echo and the Bunnymen.
