Singer Olly Murs has opened up about his new album and revealed that it will feature songs about being heartbroken because he wanted to make it as personal as possible. 

Speaking to BANG Showbiz about the forthcoming record, he admitted that it will be very honest lyrically and will be his "most personal" offering to date:

"I'm buzzing, I'm so excited to have an album coming back out it's been a long time for me. I did a single last year but the last real proper album was 'Never Been Better' back in 2014 so it's great to an album this year."

Murs went onto explain that some of the songs will deal with feelings of heartbreak because he split from his girlfriend, model Francesca Thomas, last autumn and wanted to write about it:

"It's gonna be a bit more open for me a bit more personal but a good person you know I'm excited ... It's quite an open record so people get to really hear the tough times that I've been through. Having a break up with my girlfriend was really tough for me to go through so it's nice to speak about it on these songs."

"It's going to be an honest album, it's going to be completely fresh and new for me. I wanted to come back with something different from the fans, it's time for me to sort of mix it up and I think this album really talk about other things that have been going on in my life. It's the most personal album I've done."

Murs' new single, 'You Don't Know Love', is scheduled for release this coming Friday (July 8).
