Olly Murs cancels two concerts as promoter goes into liquidation

Olly Murs has been forced to cancel two summer concerts as the promoter has gone into liquidation.

Stephen C Associates Ltd were due to put on two concerts: one at Powderham Castle on Juy 29, and another at Kings Park, Bournemouth on August 5. However, the company has ceased trading and it is unlikely tickets bought will be refunded.

The official statement from Stephen C Associates is as follows:

"Stephen C Associates Limited, the company that has gone into liquidation, said in a statement: “We deeply regret to inform you that the company Stephen C Associates Limited has ceased to trade. It is insolvent and is expected to go into liquidation shortly. As a result, the company is not in a position to offer you a refund.

"However, if you bought VIP packages with a credit card, you should contact your credit card company immediately and ask them to refund your money. If you have purchased your tickets through one of the nominated ticket agents you should contact them in the first instance.”

A statement from Charlie and AJ Courtenay, the Earl and Countess of Devon, who live at Powderham Castle said:

"We have worked hard with Stephen C Associates and with Teignbridge District Council to bring these world-renowned artists to Powderham, and to organize two wonderful summer evenings in the deer park. The events were fully prepared and due to be well attended, and we understand the liquidation of Stephen C. Associates is due to unforeseen and unrelated factors – but of course it is the ticket holders and Powderham’s community who will be most let down."

The other cancelled concert at the castle was 'BSO Proms at the Castle'.

'Olly at the Castle' ticket refund requests have been directed to the liquidators: Herron Fisher (kirsty.penfold@herronfisher.co.uk).

Stephen C Associates Ltd had fought off an application to be struck off the Companies House register in January 2016. Profits and loss accounts lodged with Companies House in January show that the events firm had minus £212 in its account at the start of the year.
