Olly Murs has confirmed that he will support boyband One Direction on their forthcoming North American headlining tour.

The 'Dance With Me Tonight' hitmaker announced the exciting news via his official Twitter account last night (March 27) and wrote:

"I can confirm I am joining @onedirection on their US tour from 29th May as special guest!! Columbia US releasing HSAB in the summer!! #pucka."

Despite expressing his excitement at the tour plans, Murs was quick to reassure his British fans that he won't abandon them and added: "I'm always yours RIGHT here in the UK!! Its my home!! #ukmursarmy."

His American label, Columbia, is also set to release 'Heart Skips A Beat' as his debut stateside single later this summer.

The extensive run of dates will begin on May 24 in Fairfax, Virginia before coming to a close on July 1 in Florida.
