Olly Murs pays tribute to Amy Winehouse a year after death

Olly Murs has paid tribute to Amy Winehouse a year after her death.

The 'Rehab' singer sadly passed away on July 23 last year, leaving the music industry in shock and fraught with sadness.

Speaking to Capital FM, Olly Murs said that he believes Winehouse helped other British acts like Adele to break the American market.

The Xtra Factor host added that Winehouse was "one of a kind" and that she was a very unique singer. He said:

"Amy was an incredible artist. I think her vibe and her style of music…she was a one of a kind. She was very unique. I remember buying her 'Frank' album back in 2003 and I just fell in love with her voice, her jazz style. I think she was the one reason why a lot of amazing UK artists like Adele have been able to crack America because of her success and what she's done."
