Olly Murs aiming for credibility with new album

Olly Murs believes he is turning into a more "credible" artist with the release of his new album.

The cheeky singer released his third studio record 'Right Place Right Time' in late November and it hit No.1 in the UK chart.

Speaking to The Sun, Murs said that whilst his popularity has increased recently, his new album isn't all about mass impact and appeal. He said:

"I think the success of the first two albums has catapulted my popularity and so more people are coming to see me live now, which is great, but I think this album is all about credibility."

The 'Troublemaker' star added that people seem to be taking him more seriously now than when he left the X Factor in 2009 as runner-up. Murs said:

"My fans have grown in the last three years since X Factor. It's just been incredible. I've established myself as a proper artist. And it's ridiculous when anyone questions my credibility - I've had four No.1 singles and I've also sold over two-and-a-half million albums. I shouldn't have to convince people that I'm credible but I'm glad people are now taking me more seriously."
