Olly Murs: "I won't have instant US success like One Direction"

Olly Murs is aware that he won't have the instant effect on America that One Direction enjoyed.

The 'What Makes You Beautiful' stars hit the big time in the US in 2012, evoking comparisons to the reaction received by the Beatles back in the 1960s.

Murs supported One Direction on tour in the US last year and he is set to build on that slot by launching recent single 'Troublemaker' in the country.

Speaking to the Daily Star, the Xtra Factor host admitted that he is realistic when it comes to how he will go down Stateside. He said:

"America is a really great country but I never thought I'd come over here for my career. Whatever happens with this US adventure, I'm never going to be disappointed. Of course I want to have success in America. But I love being the underdog."

He continued: "'Troublemaker' has sold 100,000 already and is number 34 in the US iTunes chart. In the UK those sales would get you a number one record. But you can't put yourself up against One Direction or Adele and say, 'I want that'. I'm realistic that it'll take time."
