Olly Murs slams music "snobs"

Cheeky charmer Olly Murs has slammed "snobs" in the music industry for not highlighting his success fairly.

The singer came runner-up in the 2009 series of hit TV talent show The X Factor.

Murs, 28, says although he's landed four No. 1 singles and sold 2.5 million albums, he doesn't feel he's received enough credit.

Speaking to The Sun he explained: “It’s just snobbery from people in the industry. They’re not into what I do because they think I didn’t come through the proper channels.

He added: “I’ve released three albums now, grown a fanbase and I’m playing big shows. But it doesn’t get highlighted. It bothers me, of course it does. I don’t need to bang on, the sales speak for themselves and I’m proud of what I’ve achieved."

Murs insists he's going to continue with his hard work.

He said: “I’ll just have to carry on selling records and doing arena tours. Everyone likes an underdog don’t they? I’m just an underdog that’s sold millions of albums.”
