Olly Murs slams Xtra Factor departure speculation

Olly Murs has slammed reports he left The Xtra Factor because of "too much pressure".

The 'Troublemaker' star announced this week that he has stepped down from co-hosting duties on the hit TV spin-off show.

Murs - who started on The Xtra Factor in 2011 - took to Twitter this afternoon to rubbish claims surrounding his departure in the press.

He wrote: "Hahaha might not be doing Xtra Factor cos of too much pressure & need a break... UH NO!! That's not the truth cheers...  The truth is Music comes first as it always has... (sic)"

The singer revealed to British newspaper The Sun that he'll miss working alongside co-presenter Caroline Flack.

He gushed: "It's going to be a shame not to do The Xtra Factor again. I'm gutted because it's been a huge part of my life for the last two years. But I think whoever Caroline decides to pick, whoever the bosses decide to pick to replace me is going to be great. I don't know if she would do it on her own. And we'll see what happens in the future. I mean, you never know.

He added: "Everything that I'm doing now is for my future and for my family for the rest of my life, so I'm trying to build something for everyone."
