Olly Murs: "I'm not a cool kid"

Cheeky chart-topper Olly Murs insists he's not one of the "cool kids".

The former X Factor finalist explained that meeting musician Jake Bugg at the BRIT Awards earlier this year left him feeling a little inadequate in the "cool" stakes.

Speaking to Popjustice he said: “I’m not sure [what he makes of me]. I met him at the Brits and said hello to him and said that I liked his music. I’m not one of the cool kids so I’m not sure what his opinion of me would be.”

Murs also weighed in on a recent fan incident involving Beyoncé, after an overzealous admirer slapped the superstar's bottom while she was performing in Copenhagen, Denmark last month.

The charming singer joked he probably wouldn't have passed up the chance either.

He quipped: “I suppose if the opportunity was there [I would]. I think anyone who had the chance to slap anyone’s bum would be there, but it is an invasion.”

Murs also revealed the time he was groped on stage.

He said: “We did a thing last year where I had to come through the arena back to the stage and I was getting groped left, right and centre. Mums and nans and aunties. It was a lot. I wasn’t bothered by it at all.”
