Olly Murs wants more recognition

Olly Murs believes he doesn't get the respect he deserves because of his X Factor roots.

The singer appeared on the TV talent show back in 2009 and finished runner-up to eventual winner Joe McElderry.

However, he has since gone on to achieve one of the most prolific post-X Factor careers to date, with the singer embarking on arena tours and doing well in the US.

Speaking to Fabulous, Murs admitted that he thinks some people in the industry look down on him because of how he found his fame. The 'Army of Two' man said:

"My fans are incredible, but the media and the industry don't give me enough credit because I'm from The X Factor."

He added: "As long as the fan base is growing, eventually the media and the industry will have to realise who I am. Or maybe they won't, maybe they don't care, maybe they won't ever like me."
