Olly Murs will return to the X Factor this year as a guest judge.

The singer, who featured on the show in 2009 and worked as an Xtra Factor host from 2011 to 2013, will act as Gary Barlow's accomplice in the show's later stages.

Murs confirmed the news on Twitter, saying:

"Hey all, so there have been loads of rumours about it & I can confirm that YES I'll be @GaryBarlow's Guest Judge on this year’s @TheXFactor."

He added: "And be prepared.... #TheNewMrNasty lol ;)."

Murs meanwhile also recently revealed plans to re-release 2012 album 'Right Place Right Time' with extra material.
