Olly Murs ready to go 'more mature and cool' on next album

Olly Murs has signalled his intention to sound more 'mature and cool' on his next record.

The singer released his last full album 'Right Place Right Time' in 2012 and he confirmed to the Daily Star that he will start writing its follow-up in the first half of next year.

He suggested that he will go for a "more mature" sound than what fans are previously used to hearing.

Murs also hinted that he will team up with music friend Robbie Williams for some songwriting sessions too. He said:

"I’ve changed musically with every album, so I don’t see why the next one can’t sound a bit more mature and cooler. Robbie’s songs are rockier than mine – I’m more funk, disco and reggae. But we both always try to change, and that’s the beauty of us songwriting together."

The former Xtra Factor host added: "We could come up with anything – an uptempo song like 'Troublemaker', a swing song where it’s cheeky and fun or a big rock song like 'Let Me Entertain You'. I could never stick to one genre, it’s boring."

Murs meanwhile released the expanded 'Right Place Right Time: Special Edition' on Monday (November 25), which contains new single 'Hand on Heart'.
