1. Tell us about yourself and your music?

My artist name is “Multi Plier Sync.” a.k.a “K.I”. I’m in Tokyo, Japan.-PROFILE-My rap style is heavily affected by west coast sound. I have strong DOPE sound and G-FUNK color but still playfrom R&B like to catchy beat. I act in various field such as to provide my music to famous artist or to create music for movie.
I’ve collaborated with SNOOP DOGG/ CROOKED-I / MC EIHT/FINGAZZ /LIL BLACKY / Cartel Sons / MOE-Z / SLEEPY MALO/SAD BOY LOKO/SPANKY LOCO/ OSO VICIOUS/JASPER LOCO/XL MIDDLETON/SOLO SINATRA/GANGSTER TWIST/MC PANCHO / SEVEN /One2/SONNY BLUE / Z-GUNZ / H.O.V/WEEPING WILLOW/KENOE.

2. How would you describe your sound?

I regard the whole album as one piece so each track has different atmosphere or rap flow. But the fundamental ax is the DOPE sound.

3. Talk about the experience making your single?

4. What are you currently working on? Any new projects? Shows?

I’ve finished the tour “GLAXY RELEASE TOUR LA to JAPAN 2016” 3 weeks from now.  Sleepy Malo / Spanky Loco / Solo Sinatra / Gangster Twist came to Japan from L.A. and we all toured around Japan. The PV of the song “logic” which we created during the tour is almost done. Also the new song and PV which I created with Jasper Loco, the chicano rapper, in summer when he was in Japan is almost done, too.I’m planning to do a tour “GALAXY TOUR part 2 JAPAN to LA” in the U.S. maybe in the next early summer. I’m very grateful to my HOMIE in LA who support this. And I look forward to it.

5. What has been your biggest highlight in your music career this far?

It will be the release tour I mentioned in 4. Since, in Japan, there is no artist who invites foreign artists that participated in the album and run a tour together. It was really fun and new to me to have the same live with them.

6. Name your ideal collaboration: mainstream or independent artist(s)?

Among the mainstream artists, I would keep on doing Japanese rap as a unique Japanese. I’m a long time fan of DR.DRE beats so my dream is to rap on his beat.

7. Name something random that people do not know about you?

Usually, I listen to blues rather than hip hop.I have particularly-design tattoo all over my body.My family is in medical field for generations.I spent some time of my childhood in Toronto, Canada because of my parents’ job.

8. What’s one thing you have learned or discovered while being in the indie music scene/industry?

I’ve seen the backside of Japanese music industry. In Japan, the strongest is the office so it’s not that popular artist belongs to office but rather the office creates popular artist. One large office told me“Artist is only a material so it can be anyone. We will cook it so that it looks good and then put it on the front of the store and have advertisement that ‘this is the best’ in media. It all depends on us.” Also another large office said “we would like to promote you in large scale. Can you change to more POP style? In Japan, we have large demand for and Idol.”I thought that this industry who created this market which accept only Idols to make an easy money is a fuck. I should go in my own way. Even with tattoo all over my body, I’ ll do self management and broaden my field. I won’t stick to what’s already hot but I create new trend myself. For that, I have to do different move/development from other artists and do something new that no one has done before.

9. What can we expect from you in the future?

In Japan, there is wonderful culture unique to Japan but Japanese people tend to prefer foreign culture and look lightly on Japanese history or culture. I want to have my pride as Japanese and act so that Japanese rap will be recognized as something original that black or white people can’t realize.
