Zee Will Interview @illZeeWill

Tell us about yourself and your music? I first started pursuing music 4 years ago. It all stemmed from me writing poetry as an hobby then connecting with my friends and brother that did it professionally. I grew to love it and became passionate about music and the messages i could send to listeners.

How would you describe your sound? I would say that my music is unique with variations of different sounds in production. With my vocals almost complimenting it like an instrument. Close to a modern jazzy sound with elements of raw gritty hip hop.

Talk about the experience making your single? When i first started I trapped myself in a room and just wrote to different beats. Completely being vulnerable in my lyrics and just flowed with what was on my mind. Seeking for inspiration, looking for that "Boost" ! Then I thought about my journey with music and performing and wrote it down. Ultimately coming up with the song "Boost" describing aspects of the day to day in my life with music.

What are you currently working on? Any new projects? Shows? Im currently working on another album and a joint project with my bother & fellow artist Kam Cooks. A lot of new content for the coming year of 2017. I have a tour lined up with different shows up and down California to Idaho, reaching all the way to New York. Hopefully i can make it out to the UK soon!

What has been your biggest highlight in your music career this far? Debuting my first independent recording album and performing at the biggest arena in my city. These two moments really groomed me and helped bring certainty in what i do with my music. giving me the confidence to continue forward.

Name your ideal collaboration: mainstream or independent artist(s)? Man I would love to collaborate with Pharrell Williams, the overall creativity and vision he has is amazing.

Name something random that people do not know about you? I'm a big Anime and Comic book head! Grew up watching and reading them lol.

What’s one thing you have learned or discovered while being in the indie music scene/industry? Biggest thing I've learned is patience, commitment and being able to endure though a lot ups and downs that come with the music. It really showed some things about myself that i never knew i had or could achieve. The good and the bad, I don't regret none of it!

What can we expect from you in the future? You can expect to hear more music and see more shows. Im fully dedicated to this and i won't stop till I built something great with my music and vision. I'm meant for this and i'll make sure my artistry reaches the masses and onward.
