Interview With Ju

Ju, let’s talk about the record "Rain." How did it come about? In Phat Buddha studio in Saint Louis vibing to beats. I told Jackpot, an up and coming producer from Saint Louis, that I needed a beat with a soulful, Gospel feel. While he was creating the beat, I called James K and we came up with a meaningful message for the record.  

What is the concept behind this record? I decided to title the song “Rain” in memory of the recent loss of my nephew, Rain.

The video for "Rain" is off the chain. How long did it take you to shoot the video and where was it shot at? The video was shot pretty quickly. We shot the entire video in 3 hours at fathom studios in St. Louis.

Ju, New Levels New Devils is the mixtape that's coming out soon. When is it coming and what is the concept behind it? The mixtape will be dropping mid-March. The concept behind New Levels New Devils is that every time you level up, there’s a new devil waiting around the corner.

Ju, what makes this project different from your other projects? Personal and professional growth

What was the hardest thing in life you had to overcome and how did you overcome it? Losing my big brother Biz was the hardest thing in life I ever had to overcome. I didn’t overcome that loss, but I’ve learned channel my pain through music.

What is your favorite food spot in your city and why? My favorite food restaurant in St. Louis is Riverbend for creole, and Imos for Pizza 

What do the next 10 years look like for you? The next 10 years look promising, God willing, of course.
