‘Glory’ becomes Britney Spears' joint-highest debuting album in the UK
Britney Spears’ ninth studio album, Glory, has reached number two on the Official UK Album Chart.
Glory becomes Britney’s joint highest peaking album in the UK ever, alongside… Baby One More Time, Oops!… I Did It Again, Greatest Hits: My Prerogative and Blackout, and marks Britney’s seventh entry into the UK Official Albums Chart top ten.
Since the album’s release last Friday (August 26th), critics have raved about Britney and various tracks from Glory. The Los Angeles Times stated, “Spears might be on the verge of her biggest comeback yet,” while The Wall Street Journal said “Make Me…”, “sounds like both vintage and 2016 Britney all at the same time — it’s catchy, sexy and fresh.” Entertainment Weekly said the song was, “a sexy summer single,” while People Magazine stated that, “the icon sounds more in control than ever.” When posting about “Private Show”, Rolling Stone says, “Spears gives a soulful vocal performance,” while Billboard stated “Clumsy” is “a club-filled hook-friendly number” and Cosmopolitan said “Do You Wanna Come Over” is, “Spears at her finest.”
