Paolo Nutini on track to land UK's fastest selling album of the year

Paolo Nutini is likely to secure the UK's fastest selling record of 2014 so far.

The singer released his new effort 'Caustic Love' on Monday (April 14) and The Official Charts Company have confirmed today (April 16) that it has shifted over 58,000 copies so far.

This means that it is currently No.1 in the midweek update and only 10,000 units behind this year's current top selling album, Pharrell's 'G I R L'.

At No.2 on the midweek albums update meanwhile are The Vamps with their debut effort 'Meet The Vamps'.

Paloma Faith's 'A Perfect Contradiction' is No.3 whilst John Legend's 'Love in the Future' follows at No.4.

Completing the top five is last week's No.1, Kaiser Chiefs' 'Education, Education, Education & War'.

Jethro Tull's Ian Anderson meanwhile is a new entry at No.6 with 'Homo Erraticus'.
