Paramore secure the UK No.1 album spot

American band Paramore have scored their second No. 1 album in the UK with their self-titled fourth studio record.

The album, which singer Hayley Williams has called “the most important thing I’ve ever been a part of”, came out on Monday (April 8) this week.  The album release was closely followed by the debut of the video for ‘Still Into You’, their latest single.

'Paramore' outsold last week's No.1 album, Justin Timberlake's 'The 20/20 Experience', by over two copies to one.

‘Paramore’ is currently comfortably ahead of closest competitors and if successful will match the success of their 2009 album ‘Brand New Eyes’ as well as topple the three-week reign of Justin Timberlake’s ‘The 20/20 Experience’.

In addition to Paramore, there are four other new entries in The Official Albums Chart: James Blake enters at No.8 with 'Overgrown'; Stone Sour's 'House of Gold And Bones: Part 2' enters at No.11; and OMD's 'English Electric' enters at No.12.

Swedish electro duo, The Knife, complete this week’s new entries with 'Shaking The Habitual' at No.31.
