Live and Kicking Festival in Sudbury Announces Full Line-up For 2013

Ska legend joined by UK's top tribute acts

A growing music festival has confirmed a full list of headline acts for the two-day event.

Live and Kicking, held at the MEL Group Stadium, Sudbury, Suffolk, is now in its fourth year and has secured a bumper line-up for 2013.

Ska legend Neville Staple and his band will headline the first day of the event on Saturday, 22 June and he will be supported by some of the UK’s top tribute acts, including Changing Man (tribute Paul Weller and The Jam), Adored (tribute to The Stone Roses) and Quadrophonia (tribute to The Who). The musical acts will also be complimented by a scooter display being put on by the Sudbury Scooter Club, which is supporting the festival.

One of the highlights of day two, on Sunday 23 June, will be a free giant children’s village featuring inflatables, circus skills, Punch and Judy, magic shows and a penalty shootout. On stage more top tribute acts, including Definitely MightBe (a tribute to Oasis), Th!nk P!nk (tribute to P!nk), The Glambusters (tribute to the glamrock era) will be supporting The Committed (tribute to The Commitments). A beer festival will also be held over the duration of the festival.

Neville Staple, who enjoyed a number of top ten hits with The Specials and Fun Boy Three, is the latest big name to appear at the MEL Group Stadium. Indie rock band Wheatus, Mark Morriss of the Bluetones, Dodgy’s Nigel Clark, dance act D-Ream and glamrock legends Sweet have all played in the past three years.

Laura Maxim Instance, one of the festival organisers, said: “We are really pleased with the line-up and we are confident of attracting a record attendance for this event. Obviously the Neville Staple Band is a big coup for us, but we are equally excited about the tribute acts as they are top quality. We are still going to add a number of popular local bands to the programme and they will be announced soon.”

Tickets are now available on the festival hotline on 07974 222 777 or book online on the festival website www.livekicking.co.uk.
