Patrick Wolf's "hugely confessional" change

Patrick Wolf recently explained that his new album, 'Lupercalia', is "really romantic", but has given a more in depth explanation as to why he changed his sound citing "love at first sight" as a major inspiration. 

Speaking to The Guardian, the singer revealed that changes in his personal life enouraged the growth in his musical style:

"I wanted to document my joy as naturally as possible… It was time to grow up and change."

Wolf, who is now engaged to be married to William Charles Pollock after a chance meeting at a Christmas party, also admitted that he wears his heart on his sleeve and is better for it as his new record is "hugely confessional":

"I'd rather be embarrassingly open than embarrassingly guarded."
