Singer and television personality Peter Andre has revealed that his relationship with girlfriend Emily MacDonagh is stronger than ever because she isn't famous.

Speaking to Yahoo! OMG at the launch of Robinsons Fruit Shoot campaign, 40-year-old Andre explained that he loves how laid back she is and that she doesn't work in the entertainment industry:

"It's good to be with someone outside of the industry. It's so nice to be with someone who's just different. You know when they say that opposites attract? I never understood what that meant."

"But now I know it doesn't mean looks, it could mean in a situation like this. We're so opposite in what we do but yet we connect."

23-year-old Emily MacDonagh is a medical student and has been dating Andre for 11 months now, and while she isn't a celebrity on her own right she has appeared on his reality show, 'My Life', several times.

Andre also joked that people are starting to recognise her more than him now because of her brief cameos on the programme, adding: "She gets recognised before me now. We were at an airport recently and people came up and said: ‘We only recognised Pete because we saw you!’ She’s great. She’s awesome."
