P!nk writes song for the upcoming new season of 'The Ellen Show'

Songstress P!nk has recorded a new song called 'Today's The Day' for the new season of Ellen DeGeneres' chat show.

Ellen took to her official Twitter page this afternoon (August 12) and told her followers the exciting news, writing: "What better way to launch Season 13 than with a new song that @Pink wrote just for me? Today’s the day!"

DeGeneres also shared a video clip in which P!nk can be seen recording the track in the studio with her adorable daughter, Willow. This footage is interspersed with clips from 'The Ellen Show' and can be seen in full below.

Earlier this spring, P!nk opened up about being respected for her songwriting and told Billboard that it's amazing to be recognised for her creative abilities: "It's not about popularity. It's about what's always been important to me: the serious side of life. I'm sort of between songwriting and performing. If those are the two things I'm remembered for, then I'm stoked."
