Pixie Lott has revealed that she recently spoke to Justin Bieber about his apparent on/off girlfriend Selena Gomez.

The celebrity couple were thought to be single, but occasional photos posted on Instagram seemed to suggest that they might be back on.

Speaking to the Metro, Pixie Lott said that she encountered Bieber earlier this year whilst in Monaco - but it seems they just spoke about Gomez.

She said: "When I was in the South of France I bumped into Justin Bieber and we were both talking about how elegant and beautiful [Selena] is."

Lott and Gomez previously collaborated on the latter's 2011 track 'We Own The Night' and speaking about their duet, the Brit added:

"I think she is so lovely and beautiful. She is really talented. Selena recorded a song I had written and she left my parts in on the middle eight so it ended up being Selena Gomez featuring Pixie Lott."
