Daft Punk's 'Tron: Legacy' score

French electronica band Daft Punk have been curiously quiet for the last couple of years because they’ve been slaving in the studio over their first ever soundtrack album.

'Tron: Legacy' is the much-anticipated sequel to the 1982 scifi classic 'Tron' which even stars two of the original's names, Jeff Bridges and Bruce Boxleitner.

At a special event at Walt Disney Studios in Burbank, an industry crowd got to hear some of that soundtrack. And there was a surprise for Daft Punk fans: a cameo in the 23 minutes of the work-in-progress screened for guests.

The film, also starring Garret Hedlund, Olivia Wilde, Michael Sheen and James Frain, will be released in the US and UK in December.

The soundtrack itself is set for release on November 22, though you can hear a taste of it at tronsoundtrack.com.
