Idle Frets Release 'Aftershow' SingleCheshire newcomers making waves
Formed in Chester in 2011, IDLE FRETS have spent the majority of the last four years relentlessly gigging, snapping up opportunities and spreading like wildfire. Come 2015 and a new line-up, their intuitive new direction and sound has seen then poking their head above the parapet of the local scene in the North West and scoring some serious support slots. Protégés of Sir Paul McCartney’s illustrious Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts, the quartet are well on their way to being the latest in a long line of success stories from the city including Dan Croll, Circa Waves, Outfit, Stealing Sheep and Jethro Fox, all bursting from a thriving spotlight that’s been placed on the city’s output. "We like to write honest songs about things the average listener can get – something people can understand and connect with” says front man Ben Davies “In terms of our sound it’s a question we really don’t like to answer and we never know what to say - we’ve always seemed to slip into saying we’re an indie rock band, but it’s more textural than that, especially with the new outfit, a really different and fresh sound.”
Notes to Editors Live dates: 12th June - Chester Live (Supporting Fallows) Idle Frets are: Ben Davies - Lead vocals, guitar https://www.facebook.com/IdleFretsUK
