Watch New MICKY P KERR Video For ‘Big Bad City’New Single Out Now
Leeds based musician Micky P. Kerr has revealed the video for his new single ‘Big Bad City’ out now via Modern English Records. The single is available to purchase here. A tale of alienation and isolation, the track is a Northerner’s take on the sprawling metropolis that is our capital city. All 70’s riffs and comedic observation, the song is accompanied by brand new video in which a Micky P Kerr alter ego wanders around the city, confused and on edge. Kerr explains of the inspiration behind the track, “Big Bad City is social observation about our capital, social observation from a northern perspective. It’s also an attempt to emphasize the consequences of individualism and the demise of communities within large cities.” Previous tracks have been picked up by BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 2 and BBC 6Music, support for the songwriter has been flooding in from Huw Stephens, Colin Murray, Steve Lamacq, Lauren Laverne and Rob Da Bank amongst others. ‘Big Bad City’ will be Kerr’s first single since signing to independent label Modern English, who Huw Stephens immediately announced as his ‘DIY Label of the Week’ on his Radio 1 show recently after catching two of the label’s roster live at the label launch party. Known for his fantastically sharp wit as much as his song-writing prowess, Micky P. Kerr combines comedy and music to incredible effect; comedy, hip-hop, folk and rock are all spliced together, with his own unmistakeable Yorkshire charm.
