Ayr, Scotland natives The Hostiles are pleased to announce they will be touring their skank-inducing ska-punk chops live at Wickerman Festival, Spyatstock, Solfest, Area 51 Fest and a whole host of headline dates throughout the summer of 2013 – see below for a full list.

"Needless to say we are quite excited about the upcoming dates” says front man Josh Barron “I mean we're always on tour, but this one is particularly special as it's the most festival appearances we've had in any given summer. On top of that we have a nice Scottish run with our friends in Empty Lungs. Summer is looking good... real good!"

After touring the UK with Reel Big Fish, in addition to sharing stages with the likes of Less Than Jake, Spunge, Mad Caddies, Zebrahead, Sonic Boom Six, The King, Capdown and a whole host more, The Hostiles are already proving themselves as one of the go-to ska bands emerging from the UK punk scene, also recently appearing on the Big Cheese Magazine tour alongside Electric River and Colt 45.

The Hostiles started with brothers Josh and Chris, who grew up in the States listening to the likes of Reel Big Fish, NOFX and No Doubt. After moving to Ayr in their teens, they were introduced to heavier UK based ska-core acts Capdown, Lightyear and King Prawn by local like-minded ska-lovers, who would go on be known affectionately as “the rest of the band”.

The Hostiles went on to release their debut full-length album Always Looking Forward in April 2009. Recorded at Maybank Studios with Matt Harvey, produced by Tim G (Sonic Boom Six, Random Hand) and mastered by Peter Miles (The King Blues, Failsafe, The Skints), it marked a significant step forward for the band and found a home on Cardiff-based label Go Steady Records.

A 4-week European tour taking in shows across the continent followed, and in August 2012, amidst preparations for their second full-length album (due next year), the Late Nights…and Early Hours EP emerged. Now, with their second full length looming, this summer The Hostiles are out to show us all what ska was made for – filling your festivals and long balmy nights with more horn that a rhino on viagra.
