The Prodigy set to top UK albums chart

The Prodigy are leading the race for this week's UK No.1 album.

The dance outfit released their latest effort 'The Day Is My Enemy' on Monday (March 30).

The Official Charts Company have revealed in their midweek update today (April 1) that the record is No.1 on the albums chart.

They are outselling their nearest rival James Bay and his 'Chaos and the Calm' record by nearly two to one.

If The Prodigy stay put come Sunday (April 5), they will have secured their sixth UK No.1 album.

At No.3 on the midweek update meanwhile is Sam Smith's 'In the Lonely Hour', whilst Ed Sheeran's 2014 record 'x' follows at No.4.

Sufjan Stevens' new entry 'Carrie & Lowell' rounds off the top five.

Symphonic rockers Nightwish are a fellow new entry at No.7 with 'Endless Forms Most Beautiful', whilst Death Cab For Cutie's 'Kintsugi' is No.18.

Sia's '1000 Forms of Fear' meanwhile has risen from 24 to No.6 after she performed on The Voice.
