Iconic dance outfit The Prodigy have been confirmed to headline the Friday night at next year's Download Festival. 

The trio will perform at Donington Park on the opening night of the renowned rock event and wrote a message to their fans on social networking site Twitter that explained their "only UK festival next year will be to headline mainstage @DownloadFest on the Friday". 

Newly-reformed Black Sabbath and heavy metal legends Metallica were also recently announced as the other 2 headlining acts. 

Tickets for Download 2012 are due to go on sale at 9am BST tomorrow, November 18, and you can watch The Prodigy's video for their hit 'Breathe' here:
