Professor Green considered for 'The Voice'

British superstar Professor Green was in the running to be one of the vocal mentors on popular TV talent show 'The Voice', it has been revealed.

A spokesperson from the BBC explained to Digital Spy that the 'Monster' hitmaker was considered for a coaching role, but they went with Kaiser Chiefs singer Ricky Wilson in the end:

"We're absolutely delighted that Ricky's on board and obviously Professor Green's great, everyone really liked him, but we've got to look at the mix [of judges] and on balance Ricky is the man for the job."

"We considered a whole host of people, and Professor Green is a great artist in his own right."

This year's season of 'The Voice' will see Wilson (pictured below) and newcomer Kylie Minogue replace former mentors Jessie J and Danny O'Donoghue, while Will.i.Am and Tom Jones will reprise their roles. The spokesperson added: "[Ricky is] absolutely hysterical. I think he's going to be a really great addition, it's going to be a really good series. We're very excited."
