Sink The Pink & Selfridges present "Sink The Pink: Down The Rabbit Hole" Pantomime

A TWISTED CHRISTMAS PANTOMIME ONLY FOR GROWN-UPS

Christmas is a camp old time of year and it wouldn't be quite the same without men in dresses and a handful of innuendos dished out from a panto stage.  So what's more logical than for Selfridges to get in on the act and commission London nightlife's fabulous Sink the Pink to present a brand new saucy and naughty pantomime mash-up, Down The Rabbit Hole.

Sink The Pink are London's notorious queer movement and genderfucked performance collective, who have been spreading love and glitter across the world for the past 8 years.  Down The Rabbit Hole will be Sink The Pink's first ever pantomime.

This new pantomime, set to be disturbingly funny but strictly for adults, will be staged in the Selfridges Theatre, a fully-fledged theatre built on the lower-ground floor of the London store. Oxford Street's only theatre was launched earlier this summer during the store's grand-scale celebrations of the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare's death. A new production of Much Ado About Nothing co-produced with London's young theatre company, The Faction was the first play performed there.

Sink The Pink's unique show will tread both on the British tradition of panto whilst borrowing from theatrical satire to tell the tale of a rabbit family embroiled in a fight for survival against the greed of a land and property owner, Fat Cat, keen to get luxury flats popping up all around the enchanted forest. Fat Cat is, of course, a symbolic character representing the state of the property market today – especially in London.

Multiple characters, familiar to panto pantheon, such as the Big Bad Wolf, Sleeping Beauty and Pinocchio – but wickedly twisted, all add blazing humour to the proceedings and help turn the air blue in this hard-hitting, side splitting tale of our times.

Sink The Pink's troupe of merry drag queens will be taking over The Selfridges Theatre on the ground floor of the store from 9 November to 9 December. This iconoclastic and sharply entertaining panto from Sink The Pink and Selfridges will be full to the brim with hissing, booing and enough lip-synching and glitter to make anyone scream "he's behind you!".
