Grizzly Bear to appear on Letterman next Wednesday

Grizzly Bear will return to the US’s ‘Late Show with David Letterman’ next Wednesday (Dec 12th), capping their incredible year with a performance of "Yet Again" from their new album, 'Shields' (Warp Records).

The album currently features in Best of 2012 lists from Uncut, Mojo, NME, Guardian, Clash and Q, with Mojo calling it "the group's boldest work yet." Some of the UK’s leading independent stores also placed the record in their top 20, including Piccadilly, Rise, Resident, Drift and Bleep – Drift naming it their #1 record of the year.

Outside the UK, the album features in the end of year polls of SPIN, Gorilla vs Bear and a slew of European titles – with many more to come before 2012 is over.

Earlier this year, ‘Shields’ earned the band a career-best #7 debut on the US Billboard 200 as well as a top 20 album in the UK, a 34-date world tour of their biggest venues yet (including a sold-out show at Brixton Academy), performances on Later with Jools, The Colbert Report, Jimmy Fallon and Jay Leno, a Best New Music nod from Pitchfork (9.1), and 4 stars from The Times, Mojo, Q, Guardian and Time Out to name a few.

Grizzly Bear end the year performing at ‘4 Artists 1 Cause: A Benefit Concert for Sandy Relief Efforts’, alongside Sleigh Bells, The Antlers and Cults. The concert takes place at New York’s Terminal 5 on December 14th, with proceeds benefiting the Mayor’s Fund to Advance New York City.
