Purple Worm Records announces the arrival of ‘Staxology’, an exciting live music event taking place at the brand new music venue Polar Bear on Spring Bank in Hull. This night is set to take you through an uplifting anthology of classic Funk & Soul covers…

During the 60’s and 70’s record labels such as Stax, Hi, Chess and Motown epitomised the sounds of a golden era for soul. Legendary artists such as Otis Redding, The Temptations, Sam & Dave and Al Green were at the pinnacle of their careers. Staxology is a chance for you to experience their legacy once again in your hometown.
Staxology features live performances from four incredibly talented, local bands as well as DJ sets comprised of original funk and soul recordings. The event sees the established Purple Worm Records, an independent record label based in Hull, devoted to bringing you the very best in home-grown musical talent, working in partnership with MTV and Press Party.
