Supercharge DJ and producer Mik Newton has discussed new music forthcoming in an interview with Pressparty.

It was recently revealed that Newton and his collective will appear at a new venue in the 2017 City of Culture, Kingston-Upon-Hull. The 2 day Funk/Soul festival sees up and coming artists performing alongside more seasoned or well established musicians. Now, speaking about the project with Pressparty, the Newcastle-born producer said: "It’s gonna be life-changing, mate."

Mik continued: "The more I thought about the offer, the more I thought, 'Why don’t we bring the rest of the collective along too?’'

Speaking specifically of the project, Newton added: “The whole event will be recorded and played on local radio” and "After the festival, you’ll be able to download/stream the live recording.”

Mik Newton recently revealed he’ll be releasing new tracks under his Supercharge moniker, titled ‘Do I Feel Lucky’ and ‘Crash & Burn’ in early 2016.

The DJ/producer also said that he was returning to his 90s roots with a ‘Madchester ’90 Mix’ which will go out live on Friday 17th September on WH 106.9FM and can be streamed on mixcloud for FREE at the link below.

He commented “The 90s seems to be very ‘in vogue’ at the moment probably due to the popularity of Shane Meadows ‘This is England ‘90’ series on Channel 4.
