Queens of the Stone Age bag first ever US No.1 album

Queens of the Stone Age are celebrating after achieving their first US No.1 album.

Their sixth studio album '...Like Clockwork' topped the Billboard 200 on Wednesday (June 12), ending Daft Punk's reign at the summit, who dropped to No.2.

It sold 91,000 copies in its first week, with 13% of the sales coming via their vinyl edition.

The record wasn't as successful in the UK, charting at No.2 behind electronic outfit Disclosure.

Elsewhere in the US album chart, Sleeping with Sirens' 'Feel' is a new entry at No.3 whilst Megadeth's 'Super Collider' debuted at No.6.

In the digital singles chart meanwhile, Miley Cyrus's new track 'We Can't Stop' shifted 214,000 units to land at No.3 on the list.
