Pop band Luminites lead Centrepoint UK Christmas campaign with 'Streets of London'

Centrepoint, the leading charity for homeless young people, launches its Christmas appeal with fresh young pop band Luminites.

After seeing footage of the band on YouTube busking in London’s Leicester Square, Centrepoint has signed up Luminites to front the campaign with a recording of a contemporary version of Streets of London, the 1974 hit by Ralph McTell. The single is released on iTunes on Wednesday 7 December, with proceeds going to help the homeless young people Centrepoint  supports.

The campaign aims to raise over £300,000 to go towards helping some of the 80,000 homeless young people in the UK back into accommodation, education and employment.
