Radiohead help Reading and Leeds festivals sell out in 24 hours

Headliners Radiohead, Kings Of Leon and Arctic Monkeys have helped Reading and Leeds Festivals sell out within 24 hours. The festivals, organized by Festival Republic, are held Aug. 28 to 30.

All weekend tickets, priced £175, and day tickets, priced £70, have now been sold. They went on sale at 7pm GMT on March 30. Festival Republic has also entered into an agreement with Viagogo, which is the official secondary ticket exchange for Reading and Leeds.

"This is the seventh year in succession that both events have sold out within 24 hours of going on sale and I am very very pleased, of course," said Festival Republic managing director Melvin Benn in a statement.

"The stature of the events have grown and grown each year and this year's line up only adds to that. However, I must express caution towards all those who will now try to get their hands on tickets in whatever way they can, as they do need to be careful of dodgy sites. The only site I can recommend will be Viagogo who will at least guarantee anything they sell."

Reading Festival has recently had a capacity of 80,000, while Leeds Festival's capacity was 70,000.
