Rubylux ‘Red Moon Falls’ New single released June 16th 2014

“As anthemic and dynamic as rock but with the commercial and catchy appeal of the best pop” - Balcony TV

‘RedMoonFalls’ is the third single to be released from ‘The World Goes Quiet’, Rubylux’s latest studio album. The Brighton-based four-piece have produced another storming single as they mix their indie rock with a hint of pop to create a melody-driven hit.

The single’s theme of looking for salvation is juxtaposed by its upbeat music and, once again, the band have delivered a chorus that shows their undisputed ability to craft a hook. Mixed by Pete Craigie and Tim Laws, Mike Hall’s determined drum pulse and Clark Coslett-Hughes’ driving bass line make up the engine room with Adam Harris adding texture on keys and superb vocalist/guitarist Rob Irving completing the line-up.

Rubylux’s latest album ‘The World Goes Quiet’ was released last summer and received some rave reviews, including 4 stars from Q Magazine, “The elements are all there, the pop hooks of Crowded House, grand sweeping choruses of Snow Patrol, driving melodies of The Killers”. Though not a pop album in itself, the commercial aspect of their hooks makes the album accessible for fans of many genres.

Last year the quartet performed at festivals including Kendal Calling, Scotland’s Rockness and Great British Summertime in Hyde Park. They were picked out by Radio DJ Chris Evans to play his own CarFest 2013 and went down so well , it secured them a session on Chris Evans breakfast show , the year ended well too, with their last single ‘I Don’t Want Paradise’ being A-listed on BBC Radio 2.

Having received personal recognition from The Who’s Roger Daltrey, Led Zeppelin’s Jimmy Page and Seasick Steve, it’s obvious that Rubylux are going places. They’ve previously completed sold out dates in Asia, become the first Music Ambassadors for Soccerex and secured slots at some of the best known festivals, and that was only the start of their career.

To top that, this year is already off to a promising start, 2014 kicked off with sold out shows at Concorde 2, Brighton and Proud Galleries in London. The band will be headlining Lainfest in Leicestershire in June and are also playing at the Soccerex Asian Forum in Jordan, in May as well as playing numerous festivals and individual shows around the UK throughout the summer. This year Rubylux are also taking their rock/pop anthems over to the US and across Europe having signed to Sony Red USA at the end of 2013.

Keyboard player Adam Harris concludes: “From the day Rubylux got together our aim was to make the kind of record that we would all like to listen to, to try and compete with the biggest bands in the world.” And from what they’ve achieved so far, the band’s dream doesn’t seem so far away.
