Rizzle Kicks: 'We're working on a pilot for a sitcom'

'Down With The Trumpets' hitmakers Rizzle Kicks, real names Jordan 'Rizzle' Stephens and Harley 'Sylvester' Alexander-Sule, have revealed plans to create a television series.

The lads may be known for their music, but they explained to BBC Newsbeat that a TV project recently sparked their interest so they have been focusing their creative attention on developing ideas:

"We just want it to be kind of funny and ground breaking. So we had kind of like a pilot in the works and then another idea surfaced. So we've had to rethink, like, a lot of things."

"Tv is a very big world to kind of jump into and you don't want to make a real move, and obviously we're like a large percentage of the creation, writing wise and stuff. We just want to get it right and not make it seem gimmicky."

Earlier today, Rizzle Kicks joked that although they enjoyed the interview with Newsbeat they were surprised to discover how accurately it was transcribed and tweeted: "Love talking to @BBCNewsbeat, but hate how accurately they transcript conversations. Need a speech coach to give us 'like' removal lessons."
