Robbie Williams thinks Harry Styles might consider solo career

Robbie Williams has encouraged One Direction star Harry Styles to think about going solo.

Williams, of course, joined boyband Take That in 1990 at age 16 before leaving and forging a highly successful solo career.

He told the Metro that he saw an opportunity to go solo when he was 21 - and suggested that someone like Harry Styles might do the same. Williams said:

"I remember being 21, seeing George Michael, who's ten years older, and thinking, 'There's a vacancy there'."

He added: "So there must be a Harry Styles looking at me, going, 'He's over the hill now'."

Williams rejoined Take That in 2010 for an album and some massive live shows and he believes that the group sorted out their historical issues, adding: "A lot of things happened with the boys. The most amazing thing was that we sorted out the past."
