Robbie Williams: "Fatherhood melted me"

Robbie Williams has gushed about becoming a father for the first time and admits that it's changed him "cosmically and spiritually".

Speaking to host Graham Norton on his chat show broadcast yesterday (November 2), the singer says he has adjusted to life as a parent perfectly, despite having his initial worries.

Williams says daughter Theodora - who was born in September - is a joy to be around.

He explained to Norton: "I really do love it. I was worried before she came – I’d been a pop star since the age of 16 and I’d never done anything for myself and then all of a sudden I was being asked to take care of this life.

He added: "I thought I might be this selfish person but you just melt. The baby came out and everything changed, cosmically, spiritually, life, everything."

Williams - who is promoting new album ‘Take The Crown' - also revealed how he and wife Ayda Field chose their daughter's name.

He quipped: 'We wanted to call her Teddy but that’s bordering on celebrity nonsense and we thought what if she doesn’t go into showbiz and needs a professional name, so Theodora is her professional name and Teddy is the name she goes by at home."
