A Five Day Immersive Exhibition On London’s South Bank, Featuring Trans Latin America’s Best Contemporary Artists, World Renowned Fashion Designers and Cutting Edge Musicians.

From 8th – 12th October 2014, contemporary art gallery collective Platform C and their sister gallery in Mexico Distro 14, will present Shaped In Mexico: a free immersive cultural experience on London’s South Bank, bringing together over 20 talented and award winning artists, fashion designers and musicians, all living in or inspired by Mexico. The exhibition within the Bargehouse Gallery (a four story warehouse space within London’s iconic OXO Tower), will feature a diverse range of Mexico’s most exciting contemporary artists, many of whom have gained worldwide recognition for their unique visual works, spanning painting, sculpture, photography, film, architecture and multimedia. Highlights will include guided exhibition tours, interactive showcases, Q&A sessions with curator and artists and ‘MexKids & Parents’: An interactive hour-long guide through the exhibition designed to incite and expand the imagination of kids and parents alike.
Shaped In Mexico will feature catwalk shows from world renowned fashion designer Maria Vogel, who’s work has appeared in Vogue, Glamour, Elle, Harpers Bazaar, Nylon and many other leading fashion titles. The show will also present the work of jewellery designer Mani Malaai, currently captivating the fashion world with her distinctive use of crystal quartz and raw materials.
Music will be performed and provided by innovative electronic producer Leo Leal, an in-demand world touring DJ, releasing music on universally respected imprints including Musik Gewinnt Freunde, Kollektiv Turmstrasse Label, Dieb Audio and Inmotion, and Mexico’s godfather of bass music Ezekiel, making waves across the world with his own take on the genre, gathering support from the likes of Diplo, Buraka Som Sistema, Zombie Nation and collaborating with major brands including Adidas Football and Vans.
Modern but authentic Mexican food will be provided by Mestizo restaurant, a favorite haunt for London’s Mexican creative community.

Notes to Editors Notes To Editors: Shaped In Mexico is the brainchild of PLATFORM C, a contemporary pop-up format gallery in London and its sister gallery in Mexico, Distrito 14. Platform C is THE cultural hub for Trans Latin American contemporary art. Founded in 2006 in Monterrey, Mexico, Distrito 14 is an art-promoting project that aims to overcome the established paradigms of local galleries - through its different ventures like Contemporary Art Forums and Uno de Uno, it has worked with amazing Mexican talent across artistic disciplines, and also collaborated with British artists such as Mary McCartney and with the Goss Michael Foundation. The curator of Shaped In Mexico is olgaMargarita Dávila, who’s curatorial work spans more than 90 exhibits in the USA, Argentina, Spain, and Mexico over the past 20 years. Her current and most recent roles include: Director for the Art Museum in Saltillo, Mexico, Contemporary Curator for the Museo Textil in Oaxaca, Mexico, Curator for Fundacion Benjamin Serrano, AC, amongst many others.
