Notes To Editors:

Shaped In Mexico is the brainchild of PLATFORM C, a contemporary pop-up format gallery in London and its sister gallery in Mexico, Distrito 14.

Platform C is THE cultural hub for Trans Latin American contemporary art.

Founded in 2006 in Monterrey, Mexico, Distrito 14 is an art-promoting project that aims to overcome the established paradigms of local galleries - through its different ventures like Contemporary Art Forums and Uno de Uno, it has worked with amazing Mexican talent across artistic disciplines, and also collaborated with British artists such as Mary McCartney and with the Goss Michael Foundation.

The curator of Shaped In Mexico is olgaMargarita Dávila, who’s curatorial work spans more than 90 exhibits in the USA, Argentina, Spain, and Mexico over the past 20 years. Her current and most recent roles include: Director for the Art Museum in Saltillo, Mexico, Contemporary Curator for the Museo Textil in Oaxaca, Mexico, Curator for Fundacion Benjamin Serrano, AC, amongst many others. More information on Dávila can be found here: http://www.shapedinmexico.com/olga-margarita

It is strongly supported by the Margain Junco collection and relies solely on private backing from recognised and youthful brands

Shaped in Mexico’s London event heralds the unique relationship between the UK and Mexico which is celebrated officially in 2015

Shaped in Mexico is a fully immersive experience of current art: painting, sculpture, film, flavours, music and design.
