MATILDA GRACIA RELEASES DEBUT SINGLE ‘PLAYER’
Blues/Folk-Rock singer-songwriter drops fiery new track
New London-based, half-Spanish, half-Irish singer-songwriter Matilda Gracia has released her new single Player on all download/streaming platform. The driving blues-rocker is led by her effortlessly soulful vocals and fierce guitar lines and is lifted from her debut EP Introduction (released 3rd October via Dreamscope Media Group).
Fittingly for a new artist with such a colourful and mixed heritage, Matilda Gracia’s music draws on blues, soul, flamenco guitar and pop to create darkly melodic songs that wouldn’t sound out of place in a Tarantino movie. Following her time at the Auditorium of Alcudia in Mallorca, she moved to London to study at London’s prestigious Institute of Contemporary Music Performance and soon set down roots in the cities’ fertile live music scene. Her debut Introduction EP, depicts a refreshing approach to love, liberating and empowering the woman in expressing her lust, desire and emotions in relationships with others and with herself.
“Player is one of my oldest songs,” explains the talented new singer-songwriter. “Like the title suggests, it’s about falling for someone who turns out to be a different person to the one you though you knew. If you’ve been ‘played’ by someone, it’s ok - you’ve got to express it. The next person that you meet, might not treat you the same.”
Matilda Gracia will be playing live dates this Autumn.
