HARRIET RELEASES DEBUT ALBUM

With her last single notching up over 2,000 UK radio plays, singer/songwriter Harriet collaborates with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra as she releases her debut album

“Hasn’t she got a fantastic voice….I just think she’s great”, Claire Balding

"A mesmerising performer: Karen Carpenter meets Stevie Nicks, with a fresh musical twist.”  Paul Watson, Headliner Magazine

This girl is going to be a big star”- Larry Flick, Sirius XM/Billboard Magazine

One of the musical voices of the year, discovered right here on this show” – Graham Norton, Radio 2

Harriet –a gorgeously enthralling young British singer/songwriter whose last track, ‘Broken For You’ boasts an impressive 2,000+ UK radio plays, announces the release of her new single, ‘First and Last’, accompanied by her self-entitled album, ‘Harriet’ – both released simultaneously on October 7. Harriet’s lyrical craftsmanship and beguiling voice have a spell-binding effect on all who hear her, with the power to alter the face of some of our longest standing media, with Readers Digest creating their first ever ‘music podcast’ especially for her; and a request during a live performance on Gaby Roslin’s BBC Radio London Show for Harriet to ‘sing that again’ – an unprecedented request from the show!

International artists such as Rumer have stated that Harriet ‘Sounds a lot like Karen Carpenter’, with Harriet strongly championed by the likes of Graham Norton, Ken Bruce and Paul O’Grady at Radio 2; whist Denise Van Outen selected her as ‘An Artist To Introduce’ on Magic FM.  Following sell-out live London shows throughout 2015/16,  Harriet now addresses phenomenal public demand as she collaborates with producer and co-writer Steve Anderson (Kylie Minogue, Leona Lewis, Susan Boyle) to present her debut album, ‘Harriet’.

Effortlessly plucking at tear-stained heart-strings, ‘First and Last’ delivers a classic tale of first love, a true love that never fades.  Rich and luxurious, Harriet’s vocals are as compelling as crushed velvet, delicately woven through Steve Anderson's production of epic rhythms and strings, delivering a masterful tapestry of melodic love.  Co-written by Harriet and Steve and the legendary Judie Tzuke, ‘First and Last' is sheer musical opulence.

Lush, rich, indulgent – Harriet has the delicious vocal ability to expose emotions we didn’t even know we possessed. Delving deep and weaving their way into the absolute fabric of our being, Harriet’s voice is flecked with a vulnerability, which carries hints of pure innocent tones.  ‘Harriet’ is an album bursting with the tracks that have mapped Harriet’s cosmic rise in the industry, from the delicate sensitivity of the heart-wrenching ‘Unlove You’, the up-tempo spirit-soaring ‘Fly’ (which boasts play-lists across x28 regional UK radio stations) and ‘Broken For You’, (Harriet’s last single which notched up over 2000 UK radio plays), every track on this album is single-worthy in its own right.

Harriet has received huge support from Radio 2 with all her releases to date, including numerous plays from Paul O’Grady, Graham Norton, Tony Blackburn, Steve Wright and Ken Bruce. She performed her original song, ‘Maybe This Christmas’ live on Graham Norton’s Seasonal Special in 2014, and four songs from her recent Christmas album on Paul O’Grady’s Christmas Day show last year. The legendary US presenter Larry Flick (Sirius XM, Billboard Editor) frequently champions Harriet’s music on his radio show. When interviewing her about her first EP ‘What’s Mine Is Yours’ he declared, “We are all going to remember this day. This girl is going to be a big star.” Harriet achieved iTunes chart success with her Christmas release and influential publications including Harpers Bazaar in Hong Kong and Shangay in Spain have all featured her with glowing reviews and predicted her as a major artist of the future.

Harriet has enjoyed sell-out solo shows, including her roof-raising performances at The Pheasantry throughout this summer, plus her solo headline London shows at Rah Rah Room in November 2015 and St. James Theatre in January & February 2016, all with fantastic reviews from both fans and critics. She will be continuing a string of live dates throughout the year, as part of the campaign to promote the release of her forthcoming album.

Rapidly snowballing critical acclaim throughout media and the likes of Chartshaker candidly declaring that, “It’s impossible not to linger on every word she sings”, it’s clear to see why Harriet is one of those timeless singer/songwriters who is here to stay.

The single, ‘First And Last’ is released on Bright Star Records on October 7

The album ‘Harriet’ is released on Bright Star Records on October 7.
